You would think that a person closing in on retirement would by this point in their lives have a decent vocabulary! In order to earn extra retirement income in affiliate marketing, you have to open your mind and learn new words and even worse, new meanings to words you thought you knew already! A Baby Boomer can avoid some uncomfortable brain freeze moments if they realize this ahead of time and have some fun learning these new words and creating some funny associations to remember them.

We grew up thinking a bum was some loser, sitting on their bums, usually on a street corner, not working and begging for handouts. Not so in affiliate marketing! A bum marketer is one who used mostly free resources to advertise other people’s products and get a commission for it. So picture a Baby Boomer sitting in front of their computer with the cartoon bubble saying, “Free!”

Another term you run into is a thread. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with needles and sewing. You find this term in forums, and the thread is the back and forth discussion many people have on one topic. A long thread will have many entries and yes it can get tangled up! So imagine each conversation on a strip of paper attached to a string-thus the thread.

2) Got expertise? Share it. The web is ripe for consultants who are willing to offer their knowledge for a fee. Setting up a blog is inexpensive and fairly easy with new user friendly software readily available. Get creative. If you can solve a pressing problem for enough people, you’ve got cash to earn. We’ve seen everything from life coaching to pet potty training snag a piece of the internet pie. As your followers grow, advertisers will be increasingly interested in promoting their products on your site. Although it’s more of a process, consulting has unlimited growth potential.

With this craving for local content in Kenya and with the overwhelming support the government is giving Kenya, it can become the next IT hub for east Africa. The internet penetration is set to increase exponentially which makes specific content that much more lucrative.

Learning new vocabulary is one important piece to beginning to earn the much needed extra retirement income with affiliate marketing. It is also important to find the right sort of training program for you to be able to absorb this new information at your own pace and with your own learning style. With time, patience and a sense of humor the Baby Boomer can learn this interesting business
