Info On Duvet Covers

Posted under News and Society by admin on Sunday 20 December 2009 at 11:35 pm

Duvet covers are not all made of the same material. The material will differ in terms of quality, strength and durability. So next time you go shopping be sure to check on the label what a particular cover is made of before you decide to buy. just because it costs a lot of money does not mean it is of good quality.

It does not matter whether you are looking for any of the following:fabric for duvet cover, oversized king bedding, pink and brown duvet cover this article is still relevant to you.

what tends to push the price of most covers up is the quality and the style rather than the durability. It might be the design of the cover or any factor that may not have anything to do with you using your cover for a very long time. Actually there are a number of things that need to be looked at when purchasing duvet covers.

These things will be affected by a number of things that I will mention and you can be on the lookout for. The first point relates to the thread count. It is known that; the higher the thread count then the better the quality of the cover and the higher the price. Most of the covers that you will come across have a thread count of between 180 and 200. In my opinion for thread counts higher than this the only difference is the price.

You will find duvet covers that are made of cotton, silk and satin. Cotton is by far the most common. Whilst they may have an element of being hard when new they become soft after a few washes and last the longest. Satin has a softer feel than cotton but is much weaker. For those that are not concerned about strength but style then they can go for satin covers.

Silk is made from the silk that is made by worms so I will not say much about its strength. On the other hand if you are interested in style and elegance then these are the covers to go for. There are more variations in terms of design and when it comes to satin covers. So it is up to you to know what kind of a cover you want and with the information you now have make your pick.
